Paper Bead Making Workshop @ Rebeccamaryjane's

Saturday was damp and dreary as I set off to Doncaster
but by the time I reached Rebeccamaryjane's Studio
the sun was shining as I was greeted by five ladies
eager for a fun packed Paper Bead Making Workshop.

Between the laughter and Rebecca's delicious home made cakes - old atlases, roadmaps, calendars and left over gift wrapping paper were used to create lots of gorgeous beads !

Each of the ladies happily went home with a necklace, bracelet and earrings all created and designed by themselves.

We had so much fun that I think we're going to do it all again later in the year.

Rebeccamaryjane's Studio is part of the Mac Gallery 12a South Parade, Doncaster DN1 2DY

She has a whole host of  Make & Create Workshops taking place so take a peep at her website for full details www.rebeccamaryjanes.co.uk - I know I will !

Easter Egg Gift Box Wrap

For Easter I was asked to wrap a couple of yummy Lindt chocolate bunnies but the brief was that they shouldn't look like bunnies.

I managed to source a gorgeous bright yellow papier mache
Easter egg shaped gift box which I stuffed
full of purple tissue shreds
(available from www.thewrappingranch.co.uk).
I popped the bunnies into the shreds and then covered them with more shreds to wedge them in place.

I finished the wrap off with a delightful striking purple and lime green double bow

I like the result - I hope the recipient does too

Have a wonderful Easter break
Let's hope the sun continues to shine

Easter Hampers

I had great fun this morning with the members and staff of Waterton Park Golf Club in Wakefield wrapping a hamper that they are raffling to raise funds for Wakefield Hospice

There were so many goodies it was bit of a squeeze to get everything in the basket but we made it in the end !!

Triangle Gift Boxes - Gift Wrapping with a Twist

I've been making these fabulous and versatile little triangle gift boxes for many years.

They're easy to make and suitable for just about any occasion.

I've made them in all sizes including using
A5, A4 and A3 paper.

The only 'Rule' is that the paper must be oblong.
The box doesn't look as good if the paper is square.

Any kind of paper can be used:  you can upcycle old maps, sheet music, calendars, comics and wallpaper or simply use printer paper any kind of paper will do !

If you are giving a gift of vouchers or money these little boxes are a fabulous way of making the gift look a little bit more interesting than a boring flat envelope.

They're also perfect for wedding favours, Christmas tree presents, table presents ... the list is endless!

If you have computer skills then why not pop the paper through the printer and include a message on your box ?

There is no limit to the ideas you can have for these boxes
simply let your imagination run away with you !

For instructions on how to make the boxes click on the following link

Bye the way, if you like the idea of triangle gift boxes but don't feel able to make your own then give me a call - I'd be happy to make one (or more) for you :)

Have you missed me ?

Morning ! apologies for not posting anything for a little while.  Unfortunately my Blogspot/Blogger settings changed and I haven't been able to connect to my Blog for a few weeks.

It's taken a little bit of faffing about and I've been thwarted a few times but I'm pleased to say it all appears to be sorted out now so watch out for lots of new posts .... I'm awash with ideas !
